Vehicle manufacturers
For many years now, Steinweden Stahl has been supplying a leading vehicle manufacturer from the south of Germany with vital materials for vehicle production and tool manufacturing. We work closely with the purchasing department of our client to ensure that the items required by the different factories are always available within the call-off process. Despatch is from our warehouse in Frankfurt am Main for Just-in-Time delivery – always reliable and direct to the individual production locations of the customer.
Shipbuilding
Maintenance and repair of ocean-going vessels has become an important part of the business of one of Germany's most long-standing shipbuilders.
However, international competition for lucrative orders is intense; every minute counts for the shipowners, as time in dock costs money and ties up capacity. The shipowners pass on this pressure to the shipbuilders and repairers and impose heavy contractual penalties for any delays. Therefore precise planning and reliable logistics when sourcing materials are absolutely essential for shipbuilders and repairers if the time in dock is to be ended on schedule.
However, in reality it is not possible to plan each repair down to the last detail and to keep the necessary material in stock. This means that in cases of need, material and replacement parts must be procured under considerable time pressure so that agreed deadlines can be adhered to.
In such a particular case, Steinweden Stahl was able to arrange for extremely rapid supply and delivery of the necessary items and help the customer complete yet another successful order.
