1945 Following the end of the war, the company founder succeeded in making a new start at the "zero hour", initially on a small scale. But only a short time later, in 1952, he had to flee to the west, shortly before the company was to be nationalised. |
| 1952 At the age of 52 he faced the challenge of building up the company again in Frankfurt am Main. 1966 As early as 1966, stocks had become so extensive hat it became essential to establish new premises in the east of Frankfurt. In the street Orber Straße in the Fechenheim-Nord industrial estate, an office building and more than 2,000 square metres of storage space were erected to accommodate the ever-expanding range of steel products. |
| 1990 Under the leadership of the sons Wolfgang and Roland and with transformation of the company into a limited company (GmbH) following the death of the founder, the scene was set for the company to continue its important role as a supplier of high-quality specialist steels following the start of the new millennium. In the time which followed, among others the range of silver steels was consistently expanded. | ![]() |

2001 At the end of the year 2001 certification according to DIN EN ISO 9001 was successfully completed, fulfilling the need for customer satisfaction also in the area of quality assurance. Purchase of modern automatic special saws means the highest-possible degree of precision when cutting and the fastest-possible provision of material for our customers. |
| 2007 In june 2007 Mr. Joakim Steinweden joins the Company. He represents the third generation and is responsible for the Marketing Departement at STEINWEDEN STAHL. Under his leadership the internet site has been relaunched - the first time ever in english as well. Furthermore he invented a new corporate design and registred STEINWEDEN STAHL as the new flagship brand for al communication and marketing purposes. In the end of 2007 the sawing centre is via new automated saws expanded and offers from now on additional capacities. | ![]() |

2008 STEINWEDEN STAHL invests in it's infrastructure, truck fleet and machinery. New trucks from Mercedes Benz with additional payload and a new graphic design are visible indicators for the changes at STEINWEDEN STAHL. New staff and more sales personell offer better services for our customers. |
| 2009 A brand new taylormade software solution has been implemented at STEINWEDEN STAHL. Today the range of steels which can be supplied by Steinweden Stahl includes more than 5,000 items of high-quality bright and stainless steel. Around 1,200 tonnes of high-quality steel from German production are always in stock to fulfil the needs of our customers. Around 20 experienced members of staff are here to offer advisory and sales services and to make sure that your order is processed fast and efficiently. |
